O SBT transmitirá, ao vivo e com exclusividade, a cerimônia de entrega do Grammy 2004, a ser realizada no dia 8 de fevereiro, no Staples Center, em Los Angeles, nos Estados Unidos. Trata-se da 46ª edição do principal prêmio da indústria fonográfica mundial.
A edição 2004 do GRAMMY premia as melhores gravações lançadas no período de 1º de outubro de 2002 e 30 de setembro de 2003 em 105 categorias de 30 estilos musicais.
Neste ano três brasileiros concorrem ao Grammy. O cantor e compositor Caetano Veloso disputa o prêmio de Melhor Álbum de World Music Contemporânea pelo disco “Live in Bahia”; a cantora Luciana Souza concorre na categoria Melhor Álbum de Jazz Vocal com o disco “North And South”; e o Grupo de Capoeira Angola Pelourinho é um dos concorrentes ao GRAMMY de Melhor Álbum de World Music Tradicional por “Capoeira Angola 2 – Brincando Na Roda”. Pharrell Williams, Jay-Z, Beyoncé e Outkast são os campeões de indicações, concorrendo ao GRAMMY em seis categorias cada um. Cinco indicações têm Eminem, Justin Timberlake, Evanescence, Missy Elliott, 50 Cent, Chad Hugo, Ricky Skaggs, Luther Vandross e Warren Zevon. Destaque também para Jack White, do White Stripes, Erykah Badu, Willie Nelson e Jose Serebrier, que concorrem em quatro categorias.
